Stefan is an expert in climate policy and negotiations, with more than three years’ experience in government advisory roles. Stefan works in policy design and international climate negotiations, with a specialisation in carbon markets. He has contributed to analyses regarding carbon crediting for governments and international organisations.
Prior to joining Vivid, Stefan spent three years in as an economic advisor at Canada’s Department of Environment and Climate Change. In this role, he developed policy on carbon markets, bunker fuels, and response measures, and represented Canada as part of their delegation to the UNFCCC negotiations. Stefan also represented Canada in piloting Article 6 crediting instruments on the World Bank-led Transformative Carbon Asset Facility and participated in the design of the Bank’s Partnership for Market Implementation. Previously, at Canada’s Department of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development, Stefan assisted in the development of new intellectual property legislation and regulations to allow Canada’s ratification of an international filing treaty for industrial designs.
Stefan holds an MA in Public and International Affairs as well as a BSocSc in International Studies and Modern Languages from the University of Ottawa.
