Paul Sammon is a policy and market design expert. He has overseen projects across Vivid’s practice areas, with a particular focus on industry competitiveness, carbon pricing, and net zero transitions.
He is a trusted advisor to a large range of clients in industry and in oil and gas where he has helped them to understand the implications of climate policies. He has also worked with many high-profile public clients across Europe, the US and Latin America to assist them in the design and implementation of carbon pricing mechanisms which help foster growth and development. He is a co-author of the World Bank’s ETS Handbook and its technical paper on carbon leakage and competitiveness.
Paul has previously worked as a senior level political and policy advisor. He holds a MSc (Research) in Economic History from the LSE and a BA in Economics from Trinity College Dublin.
