Vivid has developed and applied innovative approaches to value ecosystem services and natural capital that have led to better decisions about land management
We have a continuous programme of projects on natural assets and ecosystem services, with particular focus on forestry, agriculture, urban green space, water resources, and biodiversity.
Our analysis of the interface between policy and natural capital is amongst the best in the world
We work for various public clients such as the World Bank, Defra, Natural England, Innovate UK, Natural Resources Wales, UK Space Agency, UK National Trust andthe WWF. Our approaches have helped clients in the private sector successfully integrate natural capital into their decision-making, generating value for money for their customers and society.
We apply robust economic analysis and have expertise in cutting-edge modelling techniques to value natural capital
We commonly use large statistical and spatial datasets and apply techniques such as machine learning to the rapidly growing amount of spatial data, much of which is derived from satellite imagery. We also cooperate closely with a strong network of leading academics, with whom we are able to leverage innovative models and methodologies. Recent work has made novel use of smartphone application data to generate unique insights into the contribution urban green spaces have for health and wellbeing in the UK.
