Philippine City Disaster Insurance Pool

In this report, Vivid Economics, in partnership with RMS and Willis Towers Watson, helps to develop the ‘rationale and design’ for disaster risk pooling instruments for cities in the Philippines. Vivid contributed a strategic review of the role for and optimal form of a parametric insurance pool for typhoon and earthquake risk, founded on modelling of cities’ funding requirements in the critical relief and recovery phases after a disaster, and a survey of cities’ capacity for disaster risk management and response. The work was commissioned by the Asian Development Bank.
