Off-grid Solar Market Trends Report 2020
Vivid Economics led a consortium with our partners Open Capital Advisors, commissioned by Lighting Global, GOGLA and ESMAP, to write the bi-annual flagship report on the off-grid solar sector. This research estimated the current and future size of the market through in-depth analysis of the demand and uses of solar technology, trends in the sector including new technologies and business models, the role of un-verified products entering the market and solar technologies for productive uses and for the use of public institutions. The team conducted extensive market research, engaging with key sector actors including government officials, private sector players and international organisations. We presented the key highlights of the report during the Global Off Grid Solar Forum and Expo 2020, which took place in Nairobi, Kenya in February 2020.
