Innovative finance for resilient infrastructure
This study for DFID and Lloyds of London, developed in conjunction with RMS and re:focus, explored how innovative risk transfer instruments can support (re-) building of resilient infrastructure. It developed and modelled four different instruments that could support the financing of different types of infrastructure subject to different perils, and tested these through extensive consultation with experts in the insurance sector. This is the first study of DFID’S Centre for Global Disaster Protection and has made use of an innovative ‘lab’ format to identify and develop ideas.
