Climate Adaptation in Developing Countries

This report considers the role of the private sector in promoting adaptation in developing countries, and the role that public finance can play in supporting such investments in resilience. It examines the role that the MDBs have played in particular, including through making use of concessional resources provided through the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR). It provides both an overview of the private sector adaptation investments that MDBs have made, as well as some of the key operational lessons arising from these projects. It concludes with a series of recommendations for donors, MDBs, governments and the PPCR to further involvement of the private sector in adaptation.
