Business Contribution to Global Climate Action- 2016

The United Nations Global Compact team and its partners UNEP and UNEP Finance Initiative, UNFCCC, the Office of the Special Adviser on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Climate Change, and the French and Moroccan COP Presidencies commissioned Vivid to draft the inaugural 2016 Status Report on the progress of business-focused initiatives listed on the Non-State Actor Zone for Climate Action. The report assesses the contribution of business-focused initiatives of the Global Climate Action Agenda to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. By providing this analysis, the report seeks to catalyze business action on climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and demonstrate the potential collective impact of the assessed initiatives on emissions. The report was launched at COP 22 in Marrakech and sets a suggested way forward for tracking the impact of business action on climate and the SDGs going forward.
