A low-carbon industrial strategy for Indonesia

Vivid Economics, in partnership with ClimateWorks Australia, develops a strategy for low-carbon industrial development in Indonesia in this discussion paper. The work strengthens the rationale for Indonesia’s development of a green industrial strategy. It also identifies priority sectors and policies that can serve as a pathway to low-carbon competitiveness. Our analysis of sectors where Indonesia could develop a low-carbon supply chain and join the ‘green race’ is built upon assessment of export competitiveness and innovation specialisation using trade and patent data. Findings and recommendations were validated during a series of in-country workshops with key stakeholders.
