A Climate Of Possibility

This report was commissioned by WWF Scotland to demonstrate a credible pathway towards net zero emissions in Scotland. The work takes place against the backdrop of an international net zero discussion, that is capturing attention around the world. Net zero targets require challenging issues of how fast emissions must decline in difficult sectors (e.g. industry and agriculture) and the role of negative emissions options (e.g. BECCS and alternatives land use options). Building on our previous ‘Keeping it Cool’ study for the UK as a whole, this study shows how a combination of ambitious emission reductions, and large scale deployment of negative emissions option can help Scotland reach net zero by 2045.
