The future context of the CDM

This report provides an in-depth analysis of the evolving context of the CDM. The research takes a long term view of the future challenges and evolving nature of the global climate response, and addresses the issues of key importance to the CDM’s operation. In particular, this report considers the rationale for making CERs fungible in new and emerging markets, the potential for and implications of sectoral crediting, and the extent to which offset mechanisms can remain a relevant component of the future international climate regime.
