Study of mechanisms to incentivise the financial sector to scale up financing of green investment in Jordan

Vivid Economics led a team investigating opportunities to encourage financial institutions to scale-up their investment into the ‘green’ sectors (low-carbon energy, energy efficiency, water, agriculture, sustainable tourism) of the Jordanian economy. This included both an assessment of the current barriers to green investment in the country – both specific financing barriers and broader policy and regulatory challenges – and identification and evaluation of possible means to overcome these barriers, drawing on international best-practice. The report was launched at a high profile workshop in Amman in Spring 2013.
