Prior to joining Vivid in March 2018, Rocio coordinated the Climate Change Technical Unit of the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Peru for more than 3 years. In that position Rocio worked in the analysis, development and implementation of climate and environmental policy. This included the national strategies on climate change, forest & climate change and the national contribution. Rocio was part of the Peruvian delegation to the UNFCCC climate negotiations for 4 years and led the AILAC position on market discussions in several negotiation sessions.
From 2016 to 2017 Rocio held the International Climate Fellowship from the Humboldt Foundation and was based in Berlin, Germany, working in the development of her research assignment, which focussed on climate finance. She has worked in other institutions: International Finance Corporation, Intermon Oxfam, Revenue Watch Institute, amongst others. She also teaches in the Universidad de Ingieneria y Tecnologia del Peru.
Rocio holds an MA in Ecological Economics from the ICTA-Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona, and an MA in Public Management from the Universidad Pompeu Fabra-Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona and a BSc in Economics from the Pontifica Universidad Catolica del Peru.
