Mateo Salazar


Mateo has six years of experience using data to provide technical advice to governments and firms.

Most of his professional experience has taken place in multicultural settings, working in English, Spanish, French and German.

Mateo is part of the Data Analytics and Finance practices at Vivid Economics. His work focuses on the integration of economic and financial analyses into decision making. Before coming to Vivid, he worked for the Poverty and Inequality unit of the World Bank for three years, where his job was to advise public and private entities on welfare measurement, monitoring and analysis. Most of his research and consulting was based on household surveys, firm level data, meteorological measurements and satellite imagery. Before that, he worked as a consultant for the Centre of Development Studies in Colombia, where his team developed the technical foundations for the Colombian Low Carbon Development Strategy.

Mateo holds an MPA in Public Administration from the London School of Economics and an MA and BA in Economics from Universidad de los Andes.
