Most of his professional experience has taken place in multicultural settings, working in English, Spanish, French and German.
Before coming to Vivid Economics, he worked for the Poverty and Inequality unit of the World Bank for three years, where his job was to advise public and private entities on welfare measurement, monitoring and analysis. Most of his research and consulting was based on household surveys, firm level data, meteorological measurements and satellite imagery. Before that, he worked as a consultant for the Center of Development Studies in Colombia, where his team developed the technical foundations for the Colombian Low Carbon Development Strategy.
Mateo is currently finishing the second year of the Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the London School of Economics. He holds a Masters and Bachelor in Economics from Universidad de los Andes.
