Mark specialises in using econometric and spatial analysis to inform natural resource management and climate change mitigation policies. His recent work has included predictive modelling of land use changes, climate change vulnerability assessments and the development of a web-based platform for monitoring deforestation in the Ivory Coast.
Mark holds a PhD in Economics (summa cum laude) from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His research made extensive use of modern econometric techniques, spatial analysis and ‘big data’. He was a visiting scholar at Stanford University and holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.
