He has developed significant experience in the transportation sector, including toll roads, railway, LRT, parking and port projects during various phases of the project life-cycle, working with operators, infrastructure developers, government organisations and financial institutions. He has developed a track record in delivering investment grade traffic and revenue analysis to support the delivery of privately-financed transport projects and concessions. He is an expert in identifying how projects can be optimised to maximise potential return on investment through fares and toll policy development, option appraisal and exploration of funding alternatives. He has developed particular expertise in financial and cash flow modelling and his background enables him to bring together engineering and financial concepts to produce robust and comprehensible modelling outputs.
Maarten holds a BEng/MSc equivalent in Civil Engineering and Business Management from the University of Twente (The Netherlands). He is a 2019 Level III candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program.
