Jacob Wellman

Economist

Jacob’s experiences in policymaking institutions bring a grounded perspective to today’s most challenging energy and climate problems.

Jacob has honed his public policy experience in United States federal government departments, including as a policy analyst in the Office of the Secretary of Transportation, where he focussed on climate, energy and environmental policy issues. In the UK, he studied economic challenges as a researcher in the House of Commons and on the EU-funded ECONADAPT project, which explored the economics of adaptation to climate change in Europe. Since joining Vivid, Jacob has developed expertise in green growth, urban development and clean energy with project experience throughout the UK, Europe and South East Asia.

Jacob holds an MRes in Environment, Energy and Resilience (with distinction) from the University of Bristol, an MSc in Environmental Economics and Climate Change from the London School of Economics, where he studied on a Marshall Scholarship, and a BA  (summa cum laude) in Economics from the University of New Mexico.
