Jacob Wellman


Jacob’s experiences in policymaking institutions bring a grounded perspective to today’s energy and climate problems.

Jacob’s public policy experience in the United States includes time working in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Executive Office of the President, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Transportation, where he served as a policy analyst in the Office of the Secretary focussing on climate, energy and environmental challenges relevant to the nation’s transportation sector. In the UK, he has explored economic problems as a researcher in the House of Commons and at the University of Bath working on the EU-funded ECONADAPT project, which explored the economics of adaptation to climate change in Europe.

Jacob holds an MRes in Environment, Energy and Resilience (with distinction) from the University of Bristol, an MSc in Environmental Economics and Climate Change from the London School of Economics, where he studied on a Marshall Scholarship, and a BA (summa cum laude) in Economics from the University of New Mexico.
