Charlie’s work deals with the nexus between sustainability, national development and asset management. He has supported several high-profile national development strategies, complemented by resource mobilisation plans covering institutional reform and financial instrument design. He has led a range of projects examining barriers to investment in nature-based solutions to climate change, and how innovative finance, such as forest investment funds and ‘enhanced’ green/REDD+ bonds, can help. Charlie brings broad experience in land use planning policy, including spatially explicit investment planning, ecosystem service valuation and satellite-based monitoring techniques.
Charlie’s focus is across Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa. His client portfolio includes multilateral institutions and development banks, emerging market governments and international NGOs. Charlie joined Vivid in November 2013. He holds an MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.
