Sam Fankhauser
Prof Samuel Fankhauser is an expert in environmental economics and the economics of climate change. He has also worked extensively on energy issues and the economics of post-communist transition.
His main interests are in the design and functioning of carbon markets and the economics of adaptation to climate change. He has over ten years of practical experience working on economic and environmental issues in various international financial institutions.
He is acting co-director of the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics. He also serves as Chief Economist to Globe International, the international legislator organisation and is a member of the UK Committee on Climate Change.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University College London and an M.Sc in Economics from the London School of Economics. His first degree in economics and business studies (lic.rer.pol) is from the University of Berne (Switzerland).
